EUROMUSE: Transforming Museum Experiences with Original Applied Music

ROME, December 21st – The EUROMUSE project is announcing its innovative artistic initiative, which aims to redefine the museum experience through original applied music. By combining participatory music creation with extensive research, the project seeks to foster deeper connections between visitors and cultural heritage while setting a new standard for museum engagement.
At the heart of EUROMUSE is the collaborative effort of young composers, museum professionals, researchers, and active museum visitors, organized into Community Muse Boards (CMBs). This partnership explores how music can serve as a subtle yet powerful medium to enhance visitor engagement, create lasting memories, and attract diverse audiences.
Highlights of the EUROMUSE Project:
- Creation of Six Original Museum Music Compositions: These pieces will be specifically designed for permanent exhibitions in partner museums.
- Collaborative Support: Six residencies, nine workshops, and six training sessions will empower composers and museum professionals to create and understand the benefits of impactful museum-applied music.
- Research and Measurement: The project will examine the influence of music on visitor behavior, including time spent in exhibitions, memory retention, and overall satisfaction.
EUROMUSE is an international collaboration, with partners from Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Serbia, as well as trainers and lecturers from France, Great Britain, and beyond. Over 900 visitors, along with museum and music professionals, will participate in this endeavor to redefine museum engagement.
