Two Presentations by EARTH PR and the Centre for Applied Music at the International “Sound in Museums” Conference in Mafra

Representatives of EARTH PR and the Centre for Applied Music participated in the international conference “Sound in Museums,” held in Mafra, Portugal. The conference brought together more than 200 participants from 29 countries.

Two presentations were delivered, focusing on the use of original music in museums, the enhancement of visitor experience, and research into the impact of music on the interpretation of museum content.

The first presentation, entitled “Synesthetic Spaces: Transforming the Visitor Experience with Applied Music in the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade,” presented experiences from the implementation of original music at the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade. Particular attention was given to the ways in which the integration of sound, space, and museum exhibits can enhance content presentation, emotional experience, and audience engagement.

The second presentation, “EUROMUSE – Participatory Music Creation and Implementation of Original Music in European Museums: Testing Visitors and Measuring the Impact of Original Music Aiming to Enhance the Museum Experience,” introduced the methodology and results of the international EUROMUSE project. The project is based on the participatory creation and implementation of original musical compositions in European museums, as well as on visitor research and the measurement of music’s impact on the overall museum experience.

Participation in the conference provided an important opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with international experts in museology, sound studies, music, exhibition design, heritage interpretation, and audience development.
