The third edition of the theater festival “Upad”, which was launched by SKC Novi Sad two years ago, will be held from October 18 to 25 in the SKCNS Factory. This theater festival is part of the European project “BeSpectActive!” which deals with audience development. SKCNS participates in the project as a partner organization. The basic idea of ”Invasion” is the promotion and popularization of theatrical art for young people, and all performances in the program were chosen by active young spectators. Admission is free for pupils and students with a mandatory reservation. This year, the festival will open with the performance “In our Dream”, which was produced by the Art Rhythm Association.

“In our dream” is a game, research, fragmentation of the world of dreams within and through the archetypes of the unconscious. It merges performance and installation to give the viewer the opportunity to become a part of it on an immersive journey, passing through four different sections, deeper into hidden, inner worlds and collective narratives of dreams. The concept was conceived by Sonja Stojanović and Kristina Feldhammer who perform this performance. On the second evening of the festival, the repertoire includes the play “What would you give your life for?”, Co-produced by the East West Center from Sarajevo and the Theater of Changes from Novi Sad. He acted at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad while working with acting students in the class of prof. Boris Isaković. – We made theatrical portraits of several people who gave their lives for their idea. I asked the actors: What would you give your life for? With the exception of the family, for which most people would sacrifice their lives, the question remains, is there an idea or project for which we would give our lives? Thus began this extremely exciting process in which we consider destinies, ideas, philosophies, beliefs, and in parallel – new theatrical forms. The theater we create is an intellectual theater, but it is not alienated from a spectator who does not have a higher education or does not possess a multitude of information. Our theater is accessible to every spectator; ideas belong to everyone – said Pasovic.

On Wednesday, October 20, the repertoire includes “Sixth of October”, a play by the National Theater from Nis, directed by Andrej Nosov, based on the text by Tisa Milic. – This is a story about a summer vacation. About hoping it might get better. This is a story about one birthday. About family. About the car that was supposed to solve our future. Twenty years later, we are just angry, hope has wandered somewhere. So lost we wander between different signs and phenomena. There are no mirrors, and rebellion is just a form of avoiding responsibility. When no one is to blame, nothing happens. Until the next celebration – it is in the description of the director Nosov.

On Thursday, October 21, the program includes the play “I am Akiko” produced by the Festival of Ecological Theater for Children and Youth and BUDI Festival. It was directed by Aleksandra Jelić, and based on the text by Bogdan Španjević. “Raw Play” – a game with six lives is an interactive verbatim play about the problems of young people. “Raw play” is a cruel theatrical game in which the audience via a mobile application manages the lives (ie life outcomes) of characters on stage stuck in limbo between the will of fate and the will of the audience.
