[s] BUK1 – Student Biennial of the Art of the Book

The student biennial of the art of the book derives from the previous cooperation of the House of Culture “Studentski grad” and the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, with the aim of presenting the current production of the art of books created at the art academies in Serbia and abroad. As it has been shown that the interest in such books in the world today is great, and in the desire to create a network of faculties and academies that disregard this type of visual research and expression, we decided to establish an International Student Biennale that would bring this media closer and closer to the media at the same time the popularity.
The project includes an exhibition, workshops, presentations, lectures and a publication on the art of the book, which is an exciting area of exploration and experimentation with the image, text, fonts, materials, way of browsing and types of links. In this way, it is possible to announce the content of the various disciples: graphics, paintings, sculptures, designs, photographs, literature, comics, applied sculptures, typography, calligraphy, conceptual art, illustrations.
The exhibition presents books of students from the arts academies from Belgium, Estonia, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
The exhibition will open the order. prof. Daniela Fulgosi, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts.

Saturday, November 10th
12:00. Old-fashioned paper / lecture
About old-fashioned paper and your paper-making experience, you will be interviewed by Snezana Nena Skoko, a co-worker at the hand-made paperwork workshop at the Faculty of Applied Arts.
13:00 to 19:00. Sito BUKa, printing book books using web site press / workshop
Participants will have the opportunity to realize volumes of volumes, which will be linked to a workshop by Lenard Mand on November 17th. The participants will be familiar with the experimental techniques of site-print without using the chemical photosensitive process.
The workshop is led by: Žoana Markade-Mot (JohannaMarcade-Mot) graphic designer and site printer from France. She graduated from Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Art in Sent-Etju. For 11 years now lives and works in Serbia. Part of Matrijaršija’s collective and one of the founders of the non-classified comic Novo Doba. He works as a co-editor for the press site at the Faculty of Applied Arts.

The tradition of designing bibliofil editions at the Faculty of Applied Arts has been around for nearly 60 years. On the other hand, the books of artists at the same faculty became a challenge and challenge for students. What are the differences between these two types of books and how they are designed and implemented by the students through the examples of their projects.

Attendees will discover the classic booklet printing technique with emulation development.

12:00. About Book Connections: Purpose, Aesthetics, History, and Connections / Lectures
Speaks: Aleksandar Ćeklić, an applied artist, researcher and author of professional-scientific texts in the field of history links books. She is a member of a workshop of artistic association of books at the Faculty of Applied Arts.
13:00 to 19:00. Estonian linked, handwritten book / workshop workshop
